
Savoury Biscuits
INGREDIENTS
- 90g (31/2 oz) Loprofin Mix
- 1 x 17g packet cheese flavoured Quavers®, crushed
- 1.25mlsp (1/4 tsp) Loprofin Egg Replacer
- 1.25mlsp (1/4 tsp) paprika pepper
- 1.25mlsp (1/4 tsp) salt
- 50g (2oz) hard margarine
- 2 x 15mlsp (2tbsp) Loprofin PKU Drink
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF/Gas Mark 6.
- Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Cut the margarine into small pieces and rub into the dry ingredients, until the texture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Stir in sufficient Loprofin PKU Drink, to give a soft manageable dough.
- Transfer the dough to a work surface dusted with Loprofin Mix and knead for 30 seconds, until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to 1/2 cm (1/4 inch) thickness and cut into rounds, using a 6cm (21/2 inch) cutter, liberally prick the surface of each biscuit with a fine skewer or fork.
- Place the rounds on greased baking trays and bake in a preheated oven for
approximately 8 minutes, until crisp and just starting to brown.
- Cool on a wire rack.
When cold store in an airtight tin. Makes 12 biscuits.
