My little sister has PKU and thinking about the things she can and cannot have makes my heart ache. She eats very few things - her pku pasta noodles, rice hash browns, pancakes, certain cereal and and certain chips. But she will not eat fruits or veggies. And I don't know how to tell her that's it's good for her and how much it's hurting me to see her only eat the things she's eating.
I love to cook for my family and there are A LOT things I can make for her of she liked more things but of course a 9 year old girl isn't going to listen to her older sister.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that and how great this recipe looks ( even if I can't make it for her yet.) But I wont give up.

There needs to be more information on the products, what is the fate cake, where can you find them, and what is the phe content. What is caster sugar, what is demerara sugar and how do you calculate for the correct total phe count for the total recipe. what is the correct oven temperature using electric oven? It sounds like a good recipe but I need to have all the facts as I have two adult children which are of the classic type PKU and the have to be very accurate so the phe levels don't go up.
